WHO WE ARE

The S3 Santa Fe Housing Initiative is a collaborative effort that utilizes local expertise, builds upon existing work, and incorporates the Built for Zero practice methodology. It solidifies an overwhelming desire by individuals and groups throughout the community to protect and provide safe, secure housing for our most vulnerable residents, as well as affordable, stable housing for all community members.

We possess significant knowledge, expertise and collective will to address the many systemic issues that are presently, and historically, impacting our mutual ability to address the housing crisis within our community. Our members include representatives from youth and adult emergency shelters, community housing providers, supportive services agencies, government entities, private foundations, policy advocates, promoters of social justice, and other interested stakeholders.

S3 Santa Fe Housing Initiative is a collaborative effort made possible with support from the following organizations: Anchorum Health Foundation, Santa Fe Community Foundation, Thornburg Foundation, City of Santa Fe, Santa Fe County, New Mexico Coalition to End Homeless, and the Annie E. Casey Foundation.

  • Shared responsibility with specific points of accountability
  • System/partner alignment with clarity of roles
  • Clear objectives with identified, actionable goals
  • Shared commitment to house the most vulnerable
  • Utilization and development of existing coordination efforts
  • Inclusion/alignment of various plans presently underway
  • Enhancement of quality service provision through performance incentives
  • Collaboration with other system partners, especially behavioral health
  • Shift from looking at deficiencies to focusing on strengths
  • Shift from culture of scarcity to one of abundance
  • Willingness to have the hard conversations

Ending homelessness is possible.
